The Egyptians have continued their brilliant form, qualifying for\u00a0the Semi-finals of the Hong Kong Open squash tournament.<\/strong><\/p>\n

After defeating her compatriot\u00a0Nour El-Tayeb in an all Egyptian game in the previous round, Raneem El-Weleily was once again successful to overcome her Kiwi opponent Joelle King 3-2 in a dramatic game [11-8, 17-15, 7-11, 8-11, 14-12].<\/p>\n

\u201cI have no idea how I managed to pull that one off,\u201d Raneem said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI had to go for the winners as much as I could because if I played basic squash she would play a winning shot, so I had to steal it before she did. All credit to her, she played a really good match,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, World No.1 Nour El-Sherbini has also managed to qualify for the semi-finals after defeating her compatriot Nouran Gohar 3-0 [11-7, 11-5, 11-6].<\/p>\n

Nour El-Sherbini will face\u00a0Laura Massaro in the semis, while Raneem will be up against\u00a0French World No.3 Camille Serme.<\/p>\n

On the other hand, four Egyptian men have qualified for the semi-finals in the men\u2019s competitions.\u00a0Marwan El-Shorbagy beat France\u2019s Gr\u00e9gory Gaultier 3-1 [11-8, 11-8, 7-11, 11,6], while his older brother Mohamed knocked out Egypt\u2019s\u00a0Mohamed Abouelghar with a score of 3-1 [11-7, 11-7, 5-11, 11-9].<\/p>\n

El-Shorbagy brothers will now face each other in the semi-finals, which will take place on Saturday, November 18.<\/p>\n

Ali Farag\u00a0and World No.1\u00a0Karim Abdel Gawad\u00a0will also go head-to-head in the semi-finals after they\u00a0overcame England\u2019s Declan James 3-1 [11-7, 6-11, 11-6, 11-6] and\u00a0Tarek Momen 3-1 [12-10, 11-7, 12-14, 11-7] respectively.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
