The New Woman Foundation as part of a project to support the coalition of CEDAW Egypt by training members and representatives of organizations working to activate and implement the Convention on the Elimination of all forms of discrimination against women on writing the shadow report and within the framework of the attention of the Foundation for activating the role of the Alliance in writing the shadow report, which is expected to be submitted soon the UN CEDAW Committee parallel to Egypt to provide its report the Committee’s eighth after the passage of more than 4 years to discuss its sixth and seventh in January 2010 and there all the information about the government’s report and the shadow report and other information on this link

Has participated 23 trainees in this report represent more than 15 provinces, covering the face and the face of tribal sea and the Suez Canal and the Sinai and training addressed

Training included discussion of concepts related to gender and to identify the women’s rights as human rights and the importance of working at the international level to promote women’s rights. In addition to the definition of the trainees the basic principles of CEDAW and the articles of the Convention and reservations Egypt and other Arab countries of the Convention and how to prepare the shadow report.
